Plagiarism and Art in Education
Plagiarism does exist in the art world, it is hard to do something it seems that is totally original and different now a days. Although new ideas are being created, even though they aren’t all natural beautiful pieces of people or landscape. They are more modern, exotic, trippy pictures.
Art seems like it is becoming darker. As hard as that is to explain, it seems that art has almost always been done on the lighter, happier aspect to catch a person’s eye and make them feel good. Now a days lots of people are doing artwork that shows the dark outlook on life. Things that may make someone upset or realize something.
The drawing I did at the beginning of this book of the 3 different coloured spirals that look like they are popping out of the book has become a new type of art. Tons of this kind of art is done using electronics.
Art can be done using many different mediums. The electronic medium is becoming more popular as it is sometimes easier and a lot faster and can give a more real, vibrant feel.
Work can be plagiarised but it also has points where its brand new and has never been thought of.
Art in school is often hard, following guide lines and having to do a project that could turn out original or not because of the large group of people that are in your class.
Creativity is being stolen at a young age because of the lack of usage. In classes they often want children to do their work on a black and white canvas known as homework. Not letting children learn in a more imaginative way deprives them of keeping their imagination.
There are some schools that are specifically for art, but even then that is usually a high school or a university made for students that were lucky enough to be raised with the ability to keep their imagination.
Although as I have seen more classes are making it easier for students to expand their imaginations and create more interesting eye catching projects; such as posters.
It is not only education that is taking away children imagination it is also the gadgets and things that children are given. Also the drugs. They are never able to just use their imagination without someone thinking there is something wrong with them. If I child has an imaginary friend they are sometimes considered crazy or bullied. Kids aren’t allowed to be kids which is taking imagination away.
My high school is providing lots of opportunities for artists, I wouldn’t know about other schools but I know mine is. Teaching a student by making them listen to what the TEACHER is doing is a problem. Teaching a student by getting them to do it is the better way because hands on is the best way to teach someone.

Body Art
Body art is a cultural thing that has been brought into modern society as a way to express certain beliefs or interests. Certain cultures use body art as a way to express religion, using face paint for different rituals or tattoos or piercings.
In some places in Africa they stretch their necks, ears, noses, lips and cheeks and pierce lots of different parts of their bodies for cultural reasons. The elongation of the neck is for beauty; it does not actually stretch the neck but actually shifts the shoulders down to give that illusion of a longer neck. Women are the ones who do this for the attraction of the men.
Many many tribes stretch their lips for very different reasons, no one knows exactly why. Again mostly women do this, sometimes for beauty purposes, maturity or a new bride. In certain tribes males stretch their lips to show their strength in being a chief or a great singer.
Tattoos have been thought to have started in 3300 BC. They are used by many many cultures and have been for years; for different cultures they are used for showing a social status, what family they are from or for some they were used to show who were slaves. Thomas Edison invented the first electric tattoo gun in 1876. It has now been updates tons and reinvented from his original product. Tattoos now a days are done for recreation, to show interests or for vanity reasons. They don’t seem to have the same affect to them as they used to.
Scarification and Branding are two different methods of body art that have been around for many years but are just becoming more popular in the west. Scarification is done in a controlled clean environment but cutting the skin to create a keloid scar. A keloid scar is a scar that is raised in the skin to create a 3D look. Cultures used this as a way to show that the person has grown and is entering a certain time of their life.
Branding is done with a heated piece of metal to cause a serious burn to create an image. This is another kind of scarification.
Branding and scarification is being introduced to our day in age slowly but it being see more often although not nearly as popular as piercings or tattoos.

Right.
The top row of photos is from like 3 days after I got back from Glasgow. That was last month. 21/4/2012 it’s now 25/5/2012 I know I’m not wearing the same underwear or doing the same post but this is a FUCKING big deal to me.
I hate my body and I know why, I stuff it with fast food and junk 24/7. I was finding it hard to fit into 14 sized clothing and just living in leggings.
I’m finally getting my body back, I’ll never be small or slim because I’m lazy but I’ve been eating reasonably well and this is the result. No gym, no diet pills, no radical life haul just cutting out fizzy shit, going for lower calorie options and not eating burgers and cheese all the time!!
I still have a way to go but I’ve been walking, riding and generally much more active.
My meals aren’t always SUPER healthy but chicken, brown rice, veggies and so on! I love 0 fat yogurt and blueberries, it feels like a treat to eat it too!
I’m so embarassed about this but it will force me not to let myself get that way again!! I know some people will have nothing but negative things to say because I’m disliked on this website by a few for no reason but what they fuck you gonna say? ‘You where so fat’ yep, yes I was.
I want to lose around a stone more and tone my legs & arms as they’re the worst part of me but I’m happier with my shape.
I’m happy to talk to anyone who want’s to know more :)
